Middle City Stage is a nonprofit company committed to providing theatre productions, coupled with other forms of art, in order to provoke thought and dialogue about the anguish, absurdity, humor and beauty inherent in the human condition.

Middle City Stage Company will be a staple theatrical organization in the Greater Middletown area. Our productions will range from original one act plays by regional playwrights, to contemporary dramas and comedies, to small scale musical productions and the classics. We will also be a vehicle for artists dedicated to other art forms, to present their works in conjunction with our own, to help enrich the regional culture.

Our mid-term goal is to become partially self-sustaining, using income generated by ticket sales and donations, as well as sponsorships and grants to fund our productions. With hard work and success we hope to gain the respect of both the public and business communities, in order to garner the resources to develop our own production facilities and gallery.

Eventually, we foresee staging four to five productions a year and offering local visual and media artists a space for their exhibits. This will, of course, require us to grow our board of directors with talented people who can guide Middle City Stage Company to and through these goals and objectives.

Middle City Stage Company aspires to produce theater that is culturally rich, creatively innovative, bold and risky for both the artist and the observer. We hope to weave contemporary pieces, original works, the classics, musicals, and other art forms, into an esthetic fabric that will provide a dynamic venue for casual and regular theater goers.
